In 1996 Flip's first article published in the Herald Sun was on the thrill of standing up on a surfboard for the first time. Articles for various sections including Health and Fitness, Food and Drink, City Style and the TV Guide have followed. More recently Flip has had articles published in the Opinion section of the newspaper. Her articles on cyclist abuse and McDonald's at the Royal Children's Hospital generated heated debate from readers. For a year, Flip had a bi-weekly column in the Saturday Herald Sun.

Flip wrote a weekly column in TV WEEK (2002-2003) where she revealed what celebrities kept in their fridge! The column was expected to run as part the summer editions but ended up running for the rest of the year.
During 2003 and 2004, Flip's recipes appeared monthly in Melbourne's Leader Newspaper Group.
Flip wrote a double-page spread in Australian Triathlete Magazine in 2004 providing recipes and nutritional information relevant to triathletes. Following this, Flip was invited to write an opinion page for the magazine, which she did for a year .
