Flip's history on the small screen
Flip's guest appearances on television started when she was a publicist for Channel 9's show What's Cooking with Geoff Jansz. One of the guest chefs failed to turn up so Flip stepped into the breach. And as they say, the rest his history.
After a few guest spots on What's Cooking and with her weekly radio spot on Triple R, she caught the eye of the producers of Channel 10's Huey's Cooking Adventures.
Flip joined Ian Hewitson in the kitchen and cooked a decadent dessert or cake at the end of the show. As Flip says, "I was the blonde fluffy bit at the end."
After a fabulous 180 episodes on Huey's Cooking Adventures, Flip was invited to join Channel 7's brand new show Surprise Chef with Aristos Papandroulakis and Ian "Herbie" Hempell. Aristos showed the audience how easy it was to make a meal with what was already in your fridge, freezer and pantry, when he arrived at unsuspecting people's homes. For three series, Flip presented the nutrition segment relating to a key ingredient Aristos had used in the dish.
After a guest appearance on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton to launch her first cookbook, Flip was invited back as a regular chef. Between 2002 and 2005 Flip was a regular guest chef cooking healthy, delicious meals. "Working with Bert was just so much fun, not to mention the chance to get a weekly lesson on how to do TV from such a master." What is it with Flip and big men in the kitchen?
Flip was also part of Foxtel's Lifestyle Cafe, a 13-part food show presented by chef Simon Marnie (a not so large man!) along with Karen Martini in 2005.
